I needed to start implementing more exercise into my life and at the same time, I wanted to read more. I wanted to start reading non fiction and read more fiction. I used to read ALL the time but as life changes priorities change. So I made a deal with myself. I work out at night so I would do my workout, then shower, and when I relaxed for bed afterward, I would reward myself and read at least 15 minutes of non fiction, and then 15 minutes of fiction. This was in 2021 and it's still my routine!

Two little things I do: 1) Lay out my outfits the night before. I have a hard time making decisions before my morning coffee, so days I go into work or have morning plans, I pick out all my clothes the night before and leave them in a bag in the bathroom ready to put on. It makes my mornings go SO much more smoothly! 2) High protein snacks! Chocolate covered almonds, roasted pumpkin seeds, cottage cheese with fruit, tampenade, etc.

My little brother introduced me to the Kaizen method. It is the art of taking small steps..to get to a goal. My goals are usually too big so I try to figure out if there is something small I can do.. and work up to the goal.. whenever I spiral I know I have to think about the first step.. because the goal or result is huge and scary.. I am still in the process of setting goals that feel good for me and not for the world or others..

To simplify deciding what to eat every day, I’m working on making a list of all possible meals. That way I don’t feel like I have to improvise on the spot before I go to the store, and I won’t end up eating the same meals every week.

I like to chop different raw veggies and keep them in the fridge or freezer. That way I can throw a quick meal together and it’s not the same every night.

Color is good for manga, maybe? Some of the chapter title pages are in full color, while the rest of the book is in black and white. I dunno. And also, I just wish the Kodo library had more options in Japanese (I think most of their manga is in English). I just mean, like, for language learning. I'm learning Japanese and I'm interested in getting some kind of an e-reader for reading Japanese books, preferably cool and awesome manga! I've never had an e-reader before, so I'm just kind of exploring for now. Thanks for the video.

The Graphic Audio books are SO SO good and well acted. If you ever want to try a more... "serious" fantasy series (and also save space), the Graphic Audio versions of Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series. Lots of world building and characters, but it's really fantastic and the banter between some of them is *chef's kiss*. I've heard nothing but great things about Abby Jimenez so I'm def going to have to check her stuff out.

For mugs, or any cup with handles, I installed little screw in hooks on the "roof" of the cupboard, so now they use the space up there that's usually dead space!

I like to hold onto receipts for a bit, so a couple years ago I started binder-clipping my receipts for the month in a pile. When I do my monthly finance check-in, I toss the ones from two months ago, so I only ever have two piles of receipts (this month and last month) and since they're binder-clipped they're neatly stacked. The hardest area for me to keep organized is the top of my dresser with all of my jewelry and hair accessories.

I knew we had a lot of things in our condo. I just didn’t realize the sheer volume we had until we moved everything out. Three! Three U-Haul trips and we couldn’t fit everything in my parents garage. And I thought I had done such a good job decluttering beforehand.

As a 3x audiobook listener... It takes a bit of time to get used to, but totally doable if you ever want to!
